Local advertising paper the "Quokka" will have cheaps cars in it, not sure how many Aus dollars you want to spend. Depending on how fast your car goes its about a 12 hour journey. When your not sailing you need some sort of shade, take a couple of metres of shade cloth, some fly repellant and enough fuel to get from canarvon to gnarloo and then back to canarvon.
The cliff you have to climb down is only about 2 metres tall, booties are a good idea as the cliff and reef that you have to walk over is very sharp and so are the sea urchins.
The last bit of the road surfingdave mentions is a rough bouncy sandy track rather than a road it seems to go on forever and ever.
See my post re tides as I went on low tides once and it was diffcult to get out.
