Every one who said more downhaul was spot on the money. Put another 3-4 cm on it today. Pretty soft leech, so a tad more outhaul. Ended up looking sweet, and felt great on the water. Never popped off once in 2 hours, so cheers for that!
I have the 8m GPS, I allways rig the down haul to spec
I agree with W4W, I found with the 7.3 and 8m that you need to downhaul to the longest spec on the recommended measurements from HSM. Don't go crazy on the outhaul, go to spec on that too for everyday sailing, and when you get an adjustable outhaul, let the outhaul off (so the sail just touches the boom when filled with wind) for downwind runs if you are chasing a 2sec peak or 5x10.
That blue alloy Chinook mast extension you have is pretty accurate. If you are using another extension now, make sure you measure it to make sure the printed measurements on the extension are accurate.......Mark.J and I compared my Chinook measurements with a NP extension and the NP printed measurements were out by 3cm. PM or text me if you want any help......Alternatively MArk.J is a great resource and knows these sails back to front...
