I bought one around March. In those cold winter winds the boyancy vest certainly does keep you a bit warmer. Not sure about the waterstarts though. Hopefully as the weather warms up I won't do my damnest to stop falling into the water.

Waterstarting, when you'e just learning, can be hell in choppy seas, especially when your sail has landed all wrong. I remember times when I drank so much water trying to get the bl@@dy thing up, and when I finally made it, my lungs were bursting from the exertion of all the kicking! Now I can just float around easily and concentrate on the sail, saving my energy for actual sailing.
