Any board sailors out there sailed at Tannum Sands? I know kiting is possible there but was wondering if the winds are strong enough to windsurf??

Paul,
If there's enough wind to kite then there'll be ample to windsurf. Bit like saying I know it's possible to canoe there but is there enough water to SUP. Never actually sailed at Tannum but saw a crew of about 5 windsurfers having a blast off the main beach (picnic area) there years ago. Good B & J conditions much like Yeppoon.

PS - I wouldn't worry too much about those croc signs down Gladstone way.

Spent a few days at Tannum a year or so ago. Mainly kayaked and fished out of the creek, didn't see any crocs but not sure if any saw me!! Signs are for council protection just in case. But like sharks, just keep an eye out.
Looked ok for sailboarding as 'sausage' says off the main beach area, guess depends on what the conditions are like on the day. Good open sandy beach with good small ramps.
Cheers!!
