Im not 100% sure why the Evo has been discontinued? Im kinda sad really being an Evo lover through and through. Now the Quad which converts into a single fin has taken over the Evo. I have only riden the Evo 07 and 08 but have owned the Evo 06 and 09 and would have to say that the Evo 09 is by far the best board I have used so far. It suits my style. The 09 70 and 75 are both insane boards! But I have put my faith in Starboard and got myself a Quad 71. Ive used it as a quad and absolutely love it! Im still waiting for the next blow so I can get it out there as a single fin. From my limited experience I really can see the Quad Convertable as being one sick set up. Im sure that as a single fin it will be as good if not better than the past Evo's. I have heard that if you love the Evo you will love the Quad. But thats just my thoughts and Im super stoked about it

I have owned the 75 evo for the years 2004-2008 and went to the twin last year. I my experience the only real difference from year to year were the shaping of the tails and the placement of the wide point or volume distribution, and variations to the tail rocker.

The 07 evo 74 was great DTL but not as good in onshore as the other models before it and after it, as it had a bit more tail rocker.
The 08, 09 boards were a great all-round shape as they performed great in onshore and sideshore conditions. For me the 08 was the best one I owned and a joy to sail. The 09 was slimmer with a sharper nose shape to the 08 model. I would have kept this board for ages if the Evil twin wasn't as good as it was for me. I just didn't need the evo anymore.

At the price you can get one for any of the 08/09 models would be worth having.
Every year the reviews of the board kept getting better and better.
They are not in production now as starboard felt they didn't need them with the Kode being an alround to serious wave board in the small sizes and the new Quad being a serious wave and onshore style board. why have 4 styles if you can do with 2.
