Hi guys,

Need some advice. I'm looking for a Starboard free-sex 108 or 110 for those less than ideal wave days. I actually found one in a local windsurf shop, who have the 108 (so last years i believe) wood version. It is slightly "shop soiled" so they'd do a decent price on it. Now I've only been in Australia for a few months and am not sure what a good price for a 1 year old, slightly marked wood starboard is.

Does anyone have any opinions of what a good price is? I'm judging it on how much they are in the UK - 899 pounds which equates to $2067 with todays conversion rates.

Or finally if anyone has one and wants to sell second hand let me know!

Thanks

Hey Crash,

Don't really know what a good price would be - but $2,067 sounds pricey to me.

I do have a 2004 wood 108 for sale though, if you're interested. Too big for me. Thing is, I'm over in Sydney, which will be a problem if you're west coast.

Second hand?

I'm based in Sydney also, and am very keen on getting that exact board. What is the condition like and how much are you looking for?

Yeah mate, second hand. Its good condition, only sailed it 10-15 times. Why don't you give me call: 9252 5537 or 0407 909 804.

Oh price; was thinking $1300.

if you look on the net and do the exchange your looking at about $2450 for that board new. but again its a freestyle board and who really does free style you either go hell fast or surf. you do bigger jumps in the surf.

KAOS it's a good price, but too small. I'm looking at a board for 7.5m and below and already have a 95ltr board. Thanks anyway.

Pole boy "who does freestyle?" - I do, and I know quite a few people who do as well. I'd rather be learning tricks in a Westerly (being based in Sydney) that I can take into the waves on a better day than just go back and forwards in a straight line. It kind of gets boring after the 5th carve gybe/tack.

westerlies are great for normal surfing and wave sailing. Go out to longy in anything from w-sw and you'll have awesome sessions, though most ppl are to worried in the offshore stuff bit it gives excellent waves and all the kiters are somewhere else. in nw go to palmy and again grouse waves and no one out. beats the blown out surf the NE give

Poley

Were you out at Longy on Sunday? it seemed pretty good out there, but I was teaching some mates how to windsurf on Narabeen.

Don't know if I'd want to go out there in an offshore - especially on my own!

yeah i was there early but the swell was flat as, wouldn't rate it as worth going out, but it was good getting wet. ended up just going for a speer, plenty a good fish around there if your know when to dive. As long as you can head upwind a bit there's no prob going out offshore and for the last section you just surf it in anyway.
