Hi Folks,

I scored an excellent Chinnok boom the other day which has a head designed for skinny masts. This means you can't use the thick rubber sleeve that you use with normal booms. Is my Ezzi skinny likely to suffer damage from having the boom head directly attached to it or are the rubber pads on the boom head enough to protect it?

Cheers, Jens

I've had a skinny mast for 6 months+ Throughly recommend them.

Yes, there is some wear at the attachment point to the boom. Nothing too serious, but definitely more than my previous ("normal")boom which had a mast protector.

A thin mast protector would be a good idea, I think.

Happy sailing,
Max
