I heard there is a windsurfer from Sydney who recently reached down a dolphin's throat to pull out a plastic shopping bag stuck in there, under the auspices of Taronga Zoo.

Must be a lonely shark...thought they would have been all eaten by now in those parts.

It was a little bugger...just 1m long and about as thick as my thigh...all I had to do was shout "F##############!!" VERY LOUDLY and it swam away...seconds earier, I had been considering diving off my board and going for a swim! The storm whch had been building was staying out of reach. Wind was around 5 knots. Then I dropped my sail as I was gybing around a bouy, almost fell, then I saw it! F##############!!!

So I headed back to shore (about 500m), charged with adrenaline, and just as I was amost there, the storm hit and people started planing. So I said "ah f###### it" and headed out for 20 minutes of fun...
Shark fin soup, anyone?

Came across some photos of the guy putting his arm down the shark's throat.

One of those pop-up galleries so you have to go to:
www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au/nocookies?a=A.flavipes
Then down the left, under the obligatory photo of a girl in bikini (not joking, is obligatory), there is a link to 'amazing shark rescue photos'.

Just be thankful you weren't wearing your shorts over your wetsuit!

I have to move to KL, Malaysia for work (Only 3 hours from Singapore) for about 8 months. Can you tell me how the sailing was ? is it worth brining your gear to that part of the world ?

Yeah, but you'll have to lose the tie!!

There's a good windsurfing scene in Malaysia, including some wavesailing spots and organised racing. Not sure about KL, but I can easily put you in touch with the locals. Best to talk to them, and find out what gear to bring, and if you do need to buy new stuff you'll find it's cheaper over here.

Not worth flying to Singapore to sail, as there's better wind in Malaysia!
