Severne s1 mast size

Hello everyone could someone please advise me if I could get away with running a severne s1 3.7 and a 4.3 on a 4.0 mast I have both rdm and a sdm masts. Thank you

Hi Rhys,Not sure what year your sails are but judging from this year's S1 specificationss, the short answer is no.

Current 2014 Models:
3.6m S1 requires a 362cm luff, it has an adjustable head but I doubt you'd get 40cm out of it.
4.4m S1 requires a 382cm luff, it is not adjustable, a 400cm mast would be far too long.

Depending on what the specs of the sails you're looking at are, you're probably best either buying a 370cm mast or larger/adjustable head sails.3.6 and 4.4 are VERY small. 4.4 is my smallest...it's usually used for teaching females and kids, i've only used it once myself.

Thanks Bflood thank you for your helpful information. I have ordered the above sails for my wife as she is keen to take over on the the large board. The sails are 3.7 2008 and the 4.3 2010. If anyone wants to sell a cheap 370mtr mast please let me know.

I was maxed on 4.2 the other day. ..... 100kg bloke on 85L board.
Thought you Tassie crew got that sort of wind more than we do....
