I am thinking about buying a sail from interstate. Looks pretty decent, but am concerned about it getting creased and messed up on the way over? Any ideas anyone????? Safe ways? No ways? High ways?

Aussie post is def out then? hmm.... anyone ordered from interstate and no issues?

I used to be a postie so I know that although most parcel contractors try & do the right thing the sheer amount of parcels means things can get thrown around & maybe not top loaded.
I've had 2 sails sent to me & arrive in great nick ..TNT? + Fastways.

Aus post won't take anything longer than 1200mm as it is all crated now.

Sails come in a box anyway, get the shop to leave it in a box or else get private seller to score a box from the shop/s

And as previously noted mark "top load only" and "do not crush" and you'll be right

I put 4 sails in a sail bag and put soem weight on top with no probs , you actually need to really stand on it to squish it flat to crease it.

Agree with Flipper apparently greyhound are a lot cheaper than Courier Aust / Toll / TNT

I ship sails all over the country and never have a problem.
Ship it in a box like it comes from the factory. if the guy you are buying it off is near a store, he can probably get a sail box from the shops recycling. Most windsurfing shops throw away rainforest's full of cardboard each year.
