To anyone who was enjoying the 15-25kts northerlies in Hervey Bay over the Qld school holiday period, I sacrificed myself to Huey for your benefit by not taking any gear with me (on the wrong assumption that it wouldn't blow). Daffy, your mate at Kingfisher would have had a blast if he had taken a board.

Still had a great time though. Went for a sail on a 42ft keelboat- fun but geez those things are sloooow, maxing out at under 8kts. Mind you, I wouldn't want top cross the Pacific on a sailboard. And for a while, we were actually wishing for less wind for a spot of whalewatching and fishing.
