The gecko loop (not the gecko flaka) is easy, looks stupid, but is the most fun nonplaning freestyle move to come along in ages. I had to be talked into trying it, but I'm hear to tell you they put a smile on your face when you throw them.

It's a move for when you can almost plane. The basics are:

1. Get into the footstraps (need lots of hanging from boom to do this nonplaning)
2. "sit" and rail the board by pointing your toes down.
3. head upwind, leaning rig forward.
4. sheet in, lifting with back foot and rotating your back away from the rig.

If you do it properly the sail pulls you over and you land back first ala a loop. I'm working on keeping the rig up to waterstart out of it.

that's a remko de-weerd low wind loop you can see it on Dr Beat's 1001 windsurfing moves movie. As silly as it looks it definitely helps with learning forwards, well it did for me anyway

It feels like a slow motion loop when you're cranking on the back hand and rolling over...perhaps looking toward the clew will make it even more so a "loop trainer."

I'm still working on landing my first real loop.

I had a ball doing these the other day. Just a tip though, make sure you have a good mast pad cause I managed to put a nice little crack in the side of my board from the mast extension bashing it
Now I just gotta get game enough to try planing ones in the air!

This move might have been spawned by people trying Geckos and getting them horribly wrong? :P I'm sure i've done a few by mistake over the years haha.
