Lately I’ve created a lot of beginner topics, with my simple questions answered within the first 5 posts. Doing so, I’m just going to make this topic for my own questions about the wikid sport windsurfing. Rather than creating a new topic each time.

Each time i have a question ill just resurrect this forum and all you handy peeps can help me out all over again :D

Q1; Learning to carve jibe, but struggling to come out the other side planning, the only time i can succeed a full planning carve jibe is when I’m seriously pumping in the last phase of the jibe.

Does this simply mean, that my 4.7 ezzy is not enough to carry my 155 lt board, planning?
Or could I be doing a common mistake that you’ve all done?

Sounds like you are expecting a lot of your 4.7.
How much wind is there?

and yeah rail pressure isnt easy on the 155 :S

use your 4.7 in 30+knots

a 4.7 on a 155L ? in what 30+ knots. like the others said if your trying to gybe and riding at that stage get a setup that will allow you to learn those things, ie 100L and a 6.5 or somthing ( i dont know what your weights like) move out of your comfort zone

yha as always mate but its a big board and would think a 4.7 is very small my be even too small i would think. im 75 kgs and i sail mostly a 103L witha 6.6 or 5.5 and happy to blast around most of the day in 15-20+ knots i just honestly think that combo is asking a bit to much as you progess but thats just my thoughts mate

Are there any Windsurfing Accesseries that prevent you damaging your board from catapaults?
I remember reading something about boom bras, not quite sure what they are or what there purpose are, do these prevent damages?

I'm aware some brand masts simply dont mix with other brand sails.
i.e NP vs Gaastra

Will my "Neil Pryde 430 X3 imcs21 matrix" work with the Duke?
I dont exactly want to buy another mast, but saying that i do,
as it will be my main freestyle sail which will help me learn countless moves,
therefore it must be forgiving and rigged to perfection!

I have a gift voucher with surf fx, so i needa spend the money on something, the only things that i semi need are a matching mast, a forgiving freestyle fin, and a better harness.

if you look at the peterman tables. the imcs bend characteristic column you can see that mast bend curves can vary wildly within each manufacturer from year to year. so it is not black and white.

spent the whole time in the straps planing at VP on monday. is carve gybing, learning jumping, haven't seen water starts yet?

frankly, i have never seen someone progress so fast! he is a friggin sponge!

i never thought that ice of your's look so good with the NP mast. but that doesn't mean that much in reality.
