Hi - new member to this forum though ive been checking the forecasts here since i was a long haired punk at uni.

A cam buckle on my windsurfing harness has snapped and I'm trying to source a replacement.

Anyone had a harness repair done locally that you can recommend?

On a long shot - anyone know where I can source a 1.5" (38mm) cam buckle (otherwise known as a jack lever buckle). I've been to some camping places, windsurfing stores and horseland (now that's some lateral thinking for ya ).

thanks in advance

I got a metal buckle from a dive shop, as well as some new webbing to go with it, sewed it together by hand, using a strong needle and pair of plyers to pull it through. Not a perfect solution, buckle slipped a bit on the webbing.

Hi Vitek,

I have a load of those 38mm stainless buckles at the loft - let me know if you want one.

Or John at Stuart Bell sails might have some.

Ben.

thanks everyone. I've contacted Stuart Bell and have also contacted the company who manufacture the original buckle on the harness. with any luck ill be out on the water soon...

for my own interest Ben, where did you source the S/S 38mm buckles from? Ive been into at least 20 stores around Midland and "Googled" 'til i got RSI in my fingers and everyone just shrugged. Industry secret perhaps.
"... what is that thing? Have u tried..." is all ive been hearing for the last week.
