Could anyone recommend a padded seat harness ?. I have a Dakine Reflex seat harness. It's about 3 years old now and going strong. it's very good. The only problem is, when I'm pulling down on the harness and pointing up wind riding the fin on big gear, the side of the harness presses again my hip joint, and this causes the joint to ache after 1-2 hours sailing. I'm after a harness that has padding on the sides. Any recommendations ?

Flying Objects Transit sounds what you are looking for.

You could also try a waist harness with a carbon shell.

The rigid carbon spreads the load and they are amazingly comfy..

I've used a Severne Pod for many years. It's a popular seat harness amongst GPS speed sailors given it's low hook height, comfort and relative light weight. I've sailed 180kms in one session with relatively no I'll effects.

Look also at the Liberty harness. I went to Liberty from the Reflex - just as much power when needed, much easier to depower, and no leg straps to dig into you.

I do find the Liberty does push non the hips a bit so may not suit...I really like it but if you have issues with hip pain it may not be the harness for you??

Last season I went from an oldish Dakine seat harness to Severne Pod. The Pod is much more luxurious but sits a little lower and doesn't ride up. I wish it rode up a tiny more so it pressed against a dodgy vertebra.

Ok thanks all. I'll order a POD seat harness.

PCdefender: I can't use a waist harness. Childhood accident. Stuffed upper back. But thanks for the insight about the carbon.

Dakine XT is comfy, I have one I am selling, but in US. Went from using that for fining, to the Reflex for foiling.

Thanks all.

Manuel7: I use wet suits for most of the year. 3/2 and 5/4/3.

I am using the Drake harness and have used several others and can say this is the best arness for someone that has back problems and want a harness that is confort, is seat and wont strap your legs
Check it out: Drake Windsurf Harness: windsurf.star-board.com/windsurf-board-parts-accessories/drake-windsurf-harness/

Pro Limit Rambler is a really comfy harness, just got one, feels really solid, I use it for wave sailing but they are a great slalom seat.

Unfortunately a problem in this topic is that everyone has a unique back and a unique arse. Recommendations are great for things like build quality and longevity, but trying it out or at least trying it on is the best if we are talking comfort imho

I went with a Mystic Windsurf Racing Harness. I've used this harness about a dozen times freeriding and once for GPSTC at a speed spot. Very happy with it . Thanks all for your opinions.

Just got hold of a Severne CMR harness, much better than anything I have ever used before.

More stability than my previous harness, solid feel without being stiff, really good height hook, really supports back and hips well too, just wrote a review on it in the Gear review section with some pix.

Not sure where you can get one as I haven't seen any in shops.
