I'm thinking of going for an Prydw RSS Mkll sail quiver of 7.8, 6.2, 5.4 - what do you think? Trying to cut down on the number of sails as I also have wave sails up to 5.8.

I sail in gusty Botany winds (read ****ty this year) and I currently have a Rss 7.8 Mk11 which I'm comfortable with for up to 20knts.
I have a v8 6.5, which would be replaced with the RSS 6.2
I have a RSS 5.8 mk1 which I use occasionaly, replace with RSS 5.4.

So I'm thinking:
RSS 7.8 12 - 20knts on my 111L & 90L slaom boards
RSS 6.2 15 - 25 on my 90 & 80L slalom boards
RSS 5.4 20 - 35 on my 80l slalom

Id be sticking with your original thoughts Des.
A 7.8, 6.2 and 5.4 would cover you for the majority of winds we get around here.

Would there be much difference in the 5.8 MK I you picked up in Maui to the 5.4 II?

I do agree that the 6.2 to 7.8 gap is a bit big, but the RSS does have more bottom end.

I could keep my 5.8m and just go for a 6.7m but that doesn't get over my too many sails dilemma as the old commodore is getting a bit chockers.

Decisions,decisions.! - Grant, you probably right I don't know how much difference there will be between the 5.8mk1 and 5.4mk11, but it's quite nice having the same sails for rigging familiarity. I was thinking that the 5.4 would be for when it's ballistic, and I'd probabaly rarely get a chance to really use the potential of a RSS 5.0m...
