The $1000 being offered by WSP for the last place getter sounds great. And the Pros are getting some big bucks, so what about the mid fleet sailors?

I heard on the grapevine the guys at 2nd Wind Sailboards have put up an RRD board as a prize for the rest of the fleet. Another good reason for the average joe like me to have a go this year just for fun and maybe pick up a new board.
Apparently you get to choose a board you want from the RRD range.
Anyone heard if this is true?

Sounds like it will be a huge race. I also heard that the top 15 will be very close this year with some big name pros possibly coming.
How's this for a line up (not sure again if it is true but would be good if it is more than a rumour)
Robby Swift, Patrick D, Pete Volwater, Karen Yaggi, Bjorn D, Antoine Albeau??,
Scotty, Steve Allen, Jesper V, Jesper Orth, then all the local hotshots like Peter Dans, Chris Lockwood, Dan Engdahl, Adam ?, Luke Matthews ? Ben S, etc.
Do you go in the race or watch the finish? - tough choices.

.....if you do just go to watch the finish, you won't be in for the draw for a 2010 RRD board!!!!
2ndwind Sailboards & RRD are going to make one person a happy little camper when they walk off with their choice from the RRD range, just for entering the Marathon.
All bar the Elite will go into the draw, to be drawn at the presentation, so shake the cobwebs off your gear & come on up to be part of an event that's beginning to build up an energy level reminiscent of the early Ledge to Lanos..............
Might even get the carbon zimmer frame out myself!
See you there.

Winds & wharfies allowing, our next container should be in this time next week with just about everything in it..... thrusters, twinzers, single fin, slaloms.....
..and if we don't have what the winner wants.... we'll bring it in!
Can't ask more than that.
Looks like it's going to be a great weekend!

Scarborough legend "Ben" has been talking up the 68 thruster and his sailing sure backs up his claims !
