It would be an improvement if I could add some low end power to a sail. I wonder if I could put a pair of camber inducers into it by myself. Has anyone tried this?

Last century I did this, copied a convertible sail we had, (2 removable sails). It;s a while ago now, but I'm fairly sure I had to cut small pockets in the luff sleeve. And it was a special cam, it had some sort of velcro strap that went round the end of the batten, you could adjust the strap to tension the camber against the batten. From memory it did improve the low end a fair bit.

it depends on the cut of the sail, you cant add any bottom end if the sail isnt cut for it ,eg i put 3 cambers ito an old 5.9 fred haywood speed sail because they had bottom end cut into the sail, but if its not there to start with it won't happen
