Windsurfing has resigned me to the fact that once you get a new piece of kit, it's virtually worth nothing a few years later, thats just the way it is. Have look on the buy and sell and see all the boards less than a few years old going for well under a quarter of their new price, great for those buying but pretty ordinary for anyone selling!

What brings me to post about this is a board I recently saw on ebay which is close to 20 years old but is getting very close to fetching $1000 through ebay bidding! I cant believe it? But i guess it shows when supply is limited people will fork out to get what they want, anyway heres the link.

These old race boards are as desirable for some now as they were when they were new. The way the cut through the water in light winds is incredible. Mistral Equippes were amongst the best race boards of the time and they probably still are.

Makes my f2 Lightning coarse race board at $100 look like a good buy, the bloke i bought it from had several more for similar dollars.

A Brisbane made 'Speed' brand raceboard went for around $650 a couple of weeks ago.

That's a good Mistral Equipe if that's what you're after.

Light wind sailing on longboards is almost forgotten part of our sport, everyone thinks you have to be planing to be having fun, i still love it, so relaxing crusing around checking stuff out..

I just need a longboard to do it more often..

I wonder how much this one will go for, not quite the same pedigree as the equipe but not far off.

and yes I am secretly looking at getting a longboard again. Miss the fun I used to have being able to sail anywhere in any conditions. Pirrad if you were in NSW I would take that f2 off your hands quick smart.
