I am modding the head of an old Hawaiian proline boom. I needed to add some carbon layers and decided to give a try to the clothes vacuum bags. It worked really well. The bag held vacuum no problem. One drawback is that I have no idea how much vacuum I created. But it's much better than no vaccum (I don't think would have been able to do this shape without it).

I have done the same thing to build a couple of deep Tuttle foil boxes. Used a shop vac which pulled enough vacuum, and they turned out very well.
