Two north coast sailboard boatsheads, for rental and beginners, and families, some gear available for sale etc, nice people
I visited Jordans boatshed at Port Macquarie ...
a great river sail, with nice rigging grass, and Jordans range of sailboards on hire, and expert tuition available, nice people and good advice.
Didnt sail there this time as i was heading down coast that day,but have previously rented there and enjoyed the river sail...a must to see.
At Wallis Lake....Forster..Pacific Palms made a beeline for the boatshed mext to Tiona Camping grounds where I had camped before and sailed from..Also had rented gear from the boatshed yeatrs before....and loved the atmosphere of this place.
Great treelined grounds, good boatsdhed and cafe..
great people running the boatshed under the name of PACIFIC PALMS Windsurfing.
Chris and Gabe are passionate about getting beginners interested, good gear for rental and reasonable prices, and loving to meet other sailers.
Made me feel right at home.
I sailed from 11 til probably late afternoon, taking a break for a late lunch and finding after eating and chatting to the owners it was 5.30 ready to derig as the gates are closed aroung 6 pm.
this is the cleanest waters, shallow for begginners near boatshed, warm water because of this,
I actually enjoyed the atmosphere here, with up to 10 sailers or learning at once, and a chance for me to even help a family of newbies to get the most out of thier hire gear...that was fun and the atmosphere generated here, makes the sometimes lonliness of sailing rather exciting...I imagine this is what the heydays of the 80's sailing felt like.
Check both out as they will tailer to your experience and needs...
both are passionate about beginners, and have sailed all typres of boards.
worthwhile stop for a lovely day.

Have to agree about Pacific Palms Windsurfing at Wallis Lake - a great place. Though if you're taking your own gear be prepared to take a small fin - the sandbar streatches for what felt like several km's! All the time I was wading out watching these kids happily zipping about on their beginner boards! Great place and great flat water blasting when you get out there though.

yes brav exactly
on the way home I stopped at Board Crazy and picked up a cheap second hand 31 cm freeride fin...for this reason.
having been looking for something even as small as a 26 which was the classic size fin for old longboards...i miss the cruizing from the waters edge that longboards can do.
My Prodigy and fanatic bee both have obviously modern longfins and im gonna try a shorty soon...unfortunately next time I sailed I went to fit the shorter 31 and found I needed the bolt to be a couple of mils longer and hence couldnt try it at shallow Canton beach.
but check out these two great locations...especially if you are trying to get the family interested.
Jordans has accomodation right on the riverside as they are a tourist park
And Pacific Palms windsurfing is right next door to Tiona Camping Tourist park with cabins and tent stes on the water....easy isnt it.
