Anyone aware of sails around the 5.5 size that rig on 460 mast? KA sails have a Kontral 2000 5.3 that they list as rigging on 460 mast even though the luff is 440(not sure how that works), but are there any other sail manufacturers that do the same or similar?
Thanx in advance

Most of the KA sails have an adjustable head that let you lower them down the mast a bit if the mast is longer than the luff lenght. So Ezzy sails have the same feature. Most of the 2007 KA sails especially the Kaos range have an adjustable head.

Gun, Loft, Ezzy, Tushingham, North and Gaastra have had adjustable heads over the years. I'm sure plenty others do.

As I have gun sails and don;t know about other brands, you'd be able to rig the 5.7 MC on a 460 or the Nexus 5.6m - although 430's are recommended..

The older the sail (Crash's theory) the longer the luff and therefore the mast. So buy a sail from 2000-2001.

Thanx Crash and TimB, any thoughts on the Ezzy Sail Duo 5.5, 1999, on a Norths 55% 460 mast?

I used to have an ezzy wave 5.2m from 1999, which i used on a 460 mast until i bought a 430. So I guess it would be ok. You just don't want to have more than 20 cms out of the top of the sail otherwise you're rigging up on the thickest/stiffest part of the mast.

BTW I sold a 430 40% North mast, 2 years old in great condition for around $150-200 and a 5.3m 2003 NP Zone for $200 so there are cheap, modern and good deals out there!

the camo is quite easy to spot, especially i haven't seen anyone else ever sail one! i also use the gun wave sails - white, red and silver.

See you around!
