Welcome aboard!

'Constant Curve' means a bend curve of around 12%. "Flex top" means a bend curve of 16% or so. The mast can't be both! Unfortunately companies like North and Pryde are notorious for putting confusing information on their masts so you'll have to do some digging around.

Pryde usually sit well on a flexy top mast, and so do North sails, so this shouldn't be too bad.

Does the mast say "IMCS 23"? This would be about right for a 440 although 440 is a slightly unusual size (a 430 is usually 21, a 460 is usually 25).

What does the sail look like when it's rigged? Do you have any photos of it rigged up? What's the problem in fitting the mast to the sail?

Mazz, When you try to rig mast into Luff pocket, you trying to slide it in with the cams on the mast or off the mast. Think it goes in with cams off, and you set them onto mast after fitting mast all way into sail and applying down haul and out haul, then forcing cams onto mast.

Last year I got back into windsurfing and bought a 6.6 RX2 and matching Neil Pryde mast and boom off ebay. Initially I had a fair bit of trouble trying to rig it.

Hi Guys , hey thanks for all your advice, much Apprieciated. I like the idear of downhauling, and outhauling then setting the cams that might be the trick. Those damn cams were causing such a drama trying to keep attacted to the mast. My old sail was a 5m north sail and bloody easy to rig in comparision.

Will post my success when I get a chance to give it another crack.

And yes I do have a mast extention!!..

Read throught the link you sent me "Mineral1", thanks. It doesnt mention wheather to rig the sail initially with cams on or off, but im thinking Cams off must be the way to go .. thanks again...

I've found different sails have their own "sweet spot" when it comes to fitting the cams onto the mast - with an RS-6 you're supposed to release all downhaul and pull the outhaul to a certain tightness, and the cams slip on like magic. A Gaastra nitro may need to have the cams fitted as you insert the mast. Cams on different sails will go on easily if the downhaul and outhaul are tightened a certain amount.

After you've farted around for a while you'll find the best way, and the worst way as well...
