Hi guy's I am only new to the sport and currently have an old 80's windsurfer brand board. I have been having a lot of fun on it but want to get something newer and more manoveable . I am only 65kg . So the question is what do people recommend ? I don't want to get the wrong thing and go backwoods . So far all the bigger freeride boards I have found are a bit pricie and theirs not that many arround. I don't want to spend a heap on a new board only to trash it in the learning process, so far I have found a fanatic pure bee 169L that has had a few repairs for $500 but is a long way from home to get it. I have also found a 2003 jp freeride 109 for next to nothing close to home. What do you think? What should I be looking for and what do people have??

120L - 130L freeride. Just get anything that is not soft or full of water, cheaper the better as you will smash it.
4m, 5m and 6m wavesails, preferably X-ply, less than 5years old, on the right brand mast of 30-50% carbon, and a new alloy boom.

Then the only thing you will break will be nose of the board which you can slap some epoxy and glass on each time, and be back on the water next day.

If you are sailing your windsurfer well, getting on the plane, using the harness, doing gybes and tacks without falling in, then you may be ready or the smaller JP board. Back when windsurfing went to short boards they went straight from the Windsurfer to boards smaller than the JP. Perhaps you can ask to demo the JP.
