Awwwrighty here's a good one for the board design experts and the propellor heads who read all the articles and measure all the boards b4 buying one....

My last traditional waveboards were about 1999 and 2000 models, then in 2005 I changed to Starboard EVO's and love them. I've got a 92 and 80, but I'm starting to lose weight (and the 80 is a handful in over 30 knots) so will get a third board soon.

I'm thinking about a 2004 - 05 model RRD Wave One, Starboard Acid, JP Wave, or maybe a Angulo Chango..... all in the 72 - 75L range.

I'm guessing they will be substantially different to my 2000 model
traditional board (which was bloody awesomely great down the line board) .... in that they will all be faster rockered???

When did the big change occur in *traditional* waveboards.... (not
widestyles?) I think it was about the '04 models that became a lot faster rockered and quicker to plane???

Yeah around 2004, I don't remember there being a sudden change more like an evolution. I know in 2006 boards starting getting faster rocker lines and becoming shorter and wider. I've got a JP 2005 radical wave 74l which I am pretty happy with, but last year I tried out a 2006 Radical Wave 69l and that was awesome. It was more like a surfboard than a windsurfer. This was in Egypt so never got to try it wave conditions more like large swell, but I reckon it would be great in the waves. So when I get a bit more $$ together I will trade in my JP and get a 69l Rad. wave and an 83l Real World wave.

Haven't sailed a starboard for a while, but my mate swears by them and by Severne sails. He also reckons I'm pony for sailing JP & NP....
