What is the objective of the new 2019 Neil Pryde X Series sails?

Are they some sort of cheaper sail with different materials or something?

What is the difference between an X:Wave and a Combat?

"The new X:Wave HD is based on the 2018 Combat design. Same great shape, slightly more power, better early planing and performance to suit all levels of rider and a wider variety of conditions. The X:Wave HD comes with a longer boom to offer more speed, power and stability and deeper shaping in the bottom 2 battens to further enhance these benefits. "

This makes no sense to me. So it is the same as last year's Combat sail with the same shape but different? wtf

I think that i read that they were staying unaltered for 3 seasons and at a lower price point than the usual offerings. as to the difference to the combat (and others) old or new, I don't know

I read it as,
based on the Combat, 4 battens, but deeper draught below the boom, and longer boom
Kinda like a 4 batten Atlas with lower end yarns and battens/ batten pockets (cheaperish)

Now they've retired the Atlas I'll give the X series a go when my Atlas's die, that could be 3 years lol

Found some more info here .... which says they 'built using classic industry standard sail construction' ... i guess this means regular xply not the powerfuse thing ?

Anyone know the RRP of the Combat and the X:Wave?
