Hi Seabreezers,
today while I was sailing and as I came out of a jibe and flicked the sail one of clips that hold/tension the battens (not sure the name of it) broke on my 8.7 Neil Pryde H2 Racing and all the tension from the batten and cam gone making the sail very unstable...
This part is a plastic sort of lever that normally is threaded with a piece of rope and clips on the batten itself when closed at the very end of each batten giving tension to it (most if no all Neil Pride sails got them).
I hope someone that may have some spares maybe from an old sail can help me, of course I'm happy to pay for it. Unfortunately our local windsurf shop do not stock them and I'm kind to get back in the water...
If you can help me, please reply to this post otherwise my number is 0404 000 449
Thanks, Marty

It is called a batcam - Wind Surf and Snow in north Sydney supplied me with one about a year ago. Try them.
If that fails you can get them from Neil Pryde in Hong Kong via www.asap-direct.com

I might be wrong but do the new "bat-cams" still have to be stitched into the sail still?

^^^ yep so it is still a sailmaker install job

But if desperate for a DIY: The little bit of retaining thread can be substituted with kite line, superglued in with good firm clamp on it, then hand sewn.

They don't need to be stitched. It is a 2 min job to replace them but there is a bit of a trick. Cut a slot on the top with a hack saw and then put straight on.

So after breaking another batten I decided to use Brett's tip and change the batcam

If someone has the part that fit on the batten itself as a spare for me, that would be awesome.I've lost it being smash in a wave. The batcam opened and the whole tip went away.
