I have an older NP X9 carbon boom ( 225-275) and am thinking about getting a bigger sai lwhich needs a boom of 286. Is it possible to buy an alternative set of extension arms to make up the extra 10cm?.Trying to avoid the scenario of having to purchase another boom !

Possible - but not advisable, as that boom will be hell stressed at full extension.
May be hard to find though as the next boom size up will probably have same length extension bits and just have longer arms

I posted almost the same problem a couple of weeks ago, I ended up selling my 200-250 boom and getting a 230-290. All on seabreeze, broke about even. Any other solution would have been more expensive.

I had this done on one of my sails, cost about $50 and worked fine.

Chinook carbon extentiOns go to 60cm, if the diameter fits may be worth trying.
