If we get wind with no waves at gerroa or the Heads lets hold a bloody superX comp or somthen like it...during the next week if i get a chance at work i will make up some weights and line with buoys at the end. The line could just be rope, the buoys could be simply milk cartons painted red and the weights could be scrap metal, rocks or lead...have a beach start with an "M" shaped coarse so all we would need is 3 buoys. dont worry about those suasage floats and for the tricks between buoys just make it fin grabs and forwards or whatever.duck jibes at the buoys.beach finish... We should seriously consider it....im sure it would be better than softball on the beach... Say yes or no, so i know whether its worth making the buoys or not.
I'm all for it. What I also want to see is the whole crew do a big downwinder from Gerroa to the Heads. I reckon that has to be done at the nationals if we get the comp over and done with before the week is over.
Rosey mate it dont matter if anyone cant do forwards just have fun..we could prob have a couple of catorgaries of levels of tricks. Maybe one level could be a race with fin grabs, rail grabs and duck jibes. The other level could be of duck jibes, forwards or willy skippers,etc..just would be heaps of fun having a go at it i reckon.its a great flat water option.
Yeah bruised my foot fairly bad...you keen for flatwater superX?....if anyone has 2litre milk cartons(ones with handles)keep them and wash em out,i need 9 all up,3 for each buoy...hey donk im gona use old K set brake shoes from work as weights, should work ay?
thanks for washin your 4.6 for me donk...lol..got it today and had frigin sand all over it! doesnt matter, its in awesome condition ay...pnce again do you have a 400 and 430
How about one of those inflatable pool crocodiles or sharkes ? I was thinking we could inflate it, tow it into position with a rope and weight ties to it and then take turns at jumping onto it (forward loops onto it) to see who can burst it first !
I also reckon a heap of those super cheap soccer sized rubber balls you see for sale at servos could work well as supercross bouys. Putting the balls inside netting and weighing down either end would mena there wouldn't have to be a rope all the way through (holding the milk bottle handles) that would catch fins.
I guess the other option would be stretchy rope through the centrte so there is some give when fins go over it
I like your ideas kremlin, maybe for this comp we might give super X a miss ...it looks like a strong southerly predicted for Sat so we'll be at windang sailing...not sure bout sundy.
Are you gonna head down on Friday or do the bolt first thing on Saturday morning ? Might be stretched to get to this comp... mind you if it looks like being a real goer I may even drive down first thing saturdayt and then come back saturday night ?
im goin down on friday mornin to get set up and then fingers crossed have a sail in the arvo...peto if you are down there then maybe you could give me a few pointers, teach me some new tricks?..i got some new sails yesterday and dieing to get out in some wind...
