I find that the 2002 - 2005 ish Pryde wavesails set acceptably on my Ezzy RDM's.
However the newer sails, particularly the 2008 - 9 set atrociously.
The mast is too stiff at the top (well, no, the Ezzy mast is 'normal' and neilpryde masts are very floppy top). The result is the sail twists a LOT in the mid leech and the top batten does not twist at all. It has to be seen to be believed.
I set a 2005 4.7 Zone on an Ezzy and it is sweet. A 2008 Zone is literally unuseable.
I suggest caution and rig before you buy
Thanks for the great feedback Mark, though I'll reply to your comments re common sail brand quiver in other topic!
My 4.4 Combat is an 05 model so compatibility with Ezzy mast shouldn't be a problem, though I'm assuming you've been rigging your 05 4.7 Zone on an Ezzy Hookipa 400cm RDM, is that right? I will more than likely purchase a complete Hookipa 430 RDM along with a Hookipa 400 RDM top. With my NP 4.4 (which has been fitted with an adjustable head), I will use the 430 bottom and the 400 top which Dave Ezzy indicates will make the mast combo slightly more flex-top (bit closer to NP bend curve). I've been doing the mix n' match thing with NP X6 masts for some years now and for the amount of times I use my smallest sail in a season (around 4-6 times), this setup will work well for me (only need 1.5 masts for 3 sail quiver!).
I'll be up in Perth in about a weeks time and plan to rig at least two of my sails on Ezzy masts before buying (Mark at Surf Sail Aust said that he would lend me an Ezzy mast to take out for a sail if I was keen!).
