Hey

I might be taking a job in Liverpool. If anyone could give some advise on the best place to live inrelation to my workplace and also windsurfing. Into waves & freestlye + a bit of flat water slalom. Perhaps some names of good spots and some good suburbs to live in that arent to expensive and close to Liverpool.

Cheers

Hate to tell you but Liverpool is probably the most western suburb in Sydney. A sea breeze would need a map and a spare can of fuel to find its way out there.
However, all is not lost. Depending on how far you are willing to commute to work, it should be ok.
There are some good motorways that go straight out there. One starts at the airport at Botany Bay. Not taking peak hour traffic into account, I'd say you'd drive that distance in well under an hour. Any commute to work under an hour in Sydney is considered quite fast.

So your best bet, to get the best sailing in Sydney, would be to live somewhere near Botany Bay. Great sailing there and you are close to Wanda for wavesailing.

Check some maps for names of suburbs and locations of motorways that go out to Liverpool.

have a look on a map and look at somewhere like engadine as well. Depends on ur budget (save money for gear). Engadine will get you south quickly and is not too bad to botany bay or wanda and not too bad for liverpool

Maximus - you have been blessed!!

Get yourself a place at Kyeemagh, Brighton Le Sands etc with easy access to M5.

The M5 goes straight down to liverpool, and you'll be going against peak hour which means rapid, hassle free travel at 100 - 110kph all the way. Only bummer is the toll. The actual time on the M5 to get from Brighton Le Sands to Liverpool out of peak would be 15 minutes, 20 minuts max, so depending how much frigging around you have at either end, your trip will probably be under 30 mins.

Sydney toll roads are horrifice if you're going into the city in the morning/out of the city in the afternoon, but any other time/direction - they are great.

Eckas.

Thanks

What would the aircraft noise be like around Brighton? Also whats the toll road cost? Good idea though to go against the trafic.

Brighton is one of the closest, if not the closest suburb to the airport, so I would imagine the aircraft noise would have some effect.

I'd consider the Engadine option, or somewhere around there. Seems nice and quiet.
You can jump straight on the freeway to the south coast where you'll get better sailing anyway, but still quite close to Botany Bay and Wanda. Probably still close to a decent route out to Liverpool.

Don't know the toll cost but it'd be worth paying not to have to sit in that sh!t traffic. It's probably around $3.50 one way.
