Is March the limbo purgatory no man's land month of wind and windsurfing destinations? Or is there some windy paradise out there that is likely to fire?

Supposedly Cabo Verde is good in March.

WA can still be good in march but not guaranteed. Then a long wait till the winter fronts roll in. Maybe tho odd desperation sail in average conditions in between.

I can only talk about my experience of Australia, so if I had to travel to one place it would be WA. From Shark Bay to Esperance you'll get some excellent winds, and either flat water or waves. But Shark Bay to Esperence is about 2,000km of coast line and equivalent to traveling from Tasmania Vic, NSW to SE QLD, and you could probably score some good winds travelling within those four states

Last couple of seasons here have finished really late.
March was about 10-12 days sailing last year..?

After 15 years sailing WA between September April I agree with Mark, 10-12 days is not unusal, however, you may need to sail even further north. The most we have had is 15 good days on normal wave kit and it was all Gerro and further north.

My PB 2s and 5x10 where at Albany in March, but that was back in 2013, so you can't rely on it.

Bunbury/Australind seems to be about the most windless place along the WA coast, but still get some pretty good sailing here.
i think the answer is the willingness to drive anywhere between Gero and Albany

Well not quite, we have SA and Qld members. And don't forget the other old fella who's roaming around, Somewhere in Tassie now I believe.
