Dear friends,

It is with great regret that I am placed in the unfortunate position to inform you of the passing of one of our closest friends and colleagues.

On the evening of Easter Sunday, 8 April 2007, our beloved Per Andersson passed away.

His dedication and significant contribution to the development of Starboard, Severne Sails and windsurfing throughout his life will be dearly missed.

We extend our condolences to his family, girlfriend and all of the people who’s lives he has touched, both on and off the water.

There will be a memorial service in Bangkok on Wednesday afternoon, with the official funeral later in Sweden.

We ask you to think of him and those close to him in your prayers.

Best regards

Starboard

It is with sorrow that I posted the above email that I received this morning.

It seems so wrong that a guy like Per with so much enthusiasm and vitality is taken away so young.

A lot of West Australians would know Per from the many years he has spent in WA, both living in Lancelin and traveling the state. More recently Per has been living in Thailand, but still visiting WA a number of times a year to test Starboards and catch up with friends.

The cause of death has not as yet been published.

Our deepest thoughts to Per’s family in Sweden.

From all at Auswind.
