The unofficial Perth Coast Run went off on Sunday (Dec 3rd) at 2.45pm in perfect slalom conditions - about 12 - 15 knots at the start increasing to 18 - 22 knots along the way. The run was covered by the fastest sailor in 25 minutes and just under an hour later, the stragglers followed (after much gybing and jumping). About 25 sailors made the trip, followed by a nice social gathering and sausage sizzle over a few refreshments....
All in all - a really fun afternoon. Thanks to all who took part.

Perth swimmers warned of shark threat

Swimmers at two southern Perth beaches have been warned to beware of sharks that could follow a tide of dead pilchards to shore.
A shark is believed to have ripped open a commercial fishing net on Sunday evening, leaving a school of dead fish floating on the ocean off Fremantle.
Department of Fisheries Regional Manager Tony Cappelluti says wind could force the fish ashore at Perth's Port and Leighton beaches on Tuesday, posing a threat to swimmers.
"If the current winds continue, there's a strong likelihood the pilchards may end up on Port and Leighton beaches, so the local council has been advised of the potential," Mr Cappelluti said.
