Hey, anybody been sailing at Kurnell during these recent SW's, W's and NW's? From the graphs, it seems to be a lot more steady than any other Syd location. Is it a similar story on the water? Worth a drive up from the Gong?

Why don't you just sail at Windang or Port Kembla?

I've heard a couple of first hand reports that Kurnell had a lot of action on Sunday.

Qwerty...Not at the point of open-water wave sailing yet, so confined to the lake for the time being.

It'll be good when you are.
Could do with some more sailors down here.

I sailed Kurnell on Sunday, it was N NW. It was a good day but quite gusty. Ranged from slogging to 25-30 knots, then about 4pm it got quite solid. We had 1m rollers coming through the bay which made for great B&J sailing. Lots of guys out looking for speed so quite a few entertaining wipe outs, one included a broken mast. Sails from 5m to 6.5. I was on a 6.2 and quite maxed in the gusts.
Westerlies tend to be gusty in most spots, but it can be a little more consistent in Kurnell, I've had some good sails there.
Just one thing, don't try to leave when the football is finishing at Endeavour Oval, it was a disater trying to get through Cronulla.

I knew that wind graph was too good to be true. It just looks so consistent!! I could imagine that since the wind has had a fair bit of water to blow across before reaching Kurnell, it may have taken the edge of the gusts/lulls, but by the sounds of it, not to any great extent.
