Hey everyone, I'm based in landlocked Colorado (USA), but still love getting out on my longboards-and the occasional shortboard too. A few years back, I sold off my beginner boards and have regretted it ever since, especially when I take friends out to learn.

I recently picked up an inexpensive and unusual Kona board-pretty sure it's a Kona Link[/i]. It's 220 liters, 300 cm long, and 80 cm wide. It even has a wheel mounted on the tail (which I'll be removing). From what I can tell, it sat in the original owner's storage for 15+ years and was barely used.

It seems like it'll be a great teaching board, but I can't find much about it online. Does anyone here know anything about this model or have experience with it? Thanks in advance!

Belbehoc/Guiriec it's same as exocet link 220l, now the link L, 210l. It's a entry level board heavy but strong, easy to use, you can flat water paddle with it too. On lake with low gusty wind you can always go on water with this kind of board. With a "big" sail (for your weight and level) you can be surprise how you can have fun. I build myself a board inspired from those boards 288x72x180l at 68kg with a 7'8 twincam i can go everywhere on lake from 3knots to 25knots gusts.

Wow, yes lemat is correct. I have an 11'8 Exocet Link and I have used it to teach people. But, some do find it easier on even wider beginner boards than that, depending on their balance.

The fin looks better than my stock fin. I put a k4 40cm fang in mine and it'll plane up on a 7.5-9.5 and plow through chop. Still use it in very light winds and when it's too shallow to foil, sometimes with very small sails to practice freestyle moves

I have a Kona link it is great for teaching people. My daughter learned to learned on it. A little longer makes it glide better than the short wide boards

Nice. It looks like it can motor along fairly decently. I'm excited to use it with some friends who want to learn. Thanks for the video.
