Aloha,
The December round of the KA Sail SA Summer of Speed will be held on Sunday 9th December at the Murray Mouth. Registration and briefing will be at 11am and close of sailing at 5pm with recording of GPS screen readouts by 5.15pm. This event is scheduled to be a 'slalom marathon', however we will wait to see the conditions on the day to determine the course. An image is attached of the likely slalom course - it's big! If you don't sail with a GPS, you are free to still participate in the event and enjoy the social aspect of the day and be in the running for the end of series prize draw. The one-off series entry fee is $40 and this covers competitor packs and boat expenses. You will also need to be a current member of Windsurfing SA or affiliate, and a link is provided here <http://www.windsurfing.org/files/SA_MSHIP.pdf> for the application form. Please bring correct money with you for both the entry fee and Windsurfing SA membership fee as change will not be available on the day. The current member list has not been updated by Windsurfing SA since the last event, but we have the records of who paid their membership at the last race day. Please also take the time to fill out the entry form and disclaimer (attached) to make admin a smoother process on the day. We look forward to seeing you there...

Race day two of the KA Sail SA Summer of Speed was held yesterday at a very windy Murray Mouth. The original format was to be a giant slalom race, but this was quickly scrapped in favour of outright speed sailing along the 500m speed strip in super-flat water and winds of around 20-25 knots. The winds started out as W/SW, but quickly swung to the SW and tightened the course. The Murray Mouth is a constantly changing series of sand bars and with ongoing dredging work, it is always providing different and challenging conditions – sometimes favorable……..sometimes not. Yesterday was AWESOME! We had a good turn-out of sailors and everyone was loving sailing in a new location and with perfectly flat water and amazing conditions for speed. I’m sure we’ll all be keeping an eye on the weather charts now for big W/SW’ly to SE’ly winds. This location has the potential to push all of our PB’s through the roof!
Thanks to KA Sail for their generous support of this race series.
