Good Morning,

After having ridden for a few months now after a 17 year break I'm feeling more confident on the water, and am looking for a new (to me) board for higher wind days, which I have narrowed down to a couple of boards in the buy sell area.

I've currently got a Kinetic Gladiator 115L which i like a lot, so should I get the 95 L version, or try something different like the JP xcite ride?

Will it make it easier for me to have two boards the same in different sizes, or am I better off having two different boards for something different?

Cheers

I think it's preferable to have various sizes of the same board as you will find some consistency in the way that they sail. There will be design characteristics in common between the large and small Gladiator which means that if you know how to make the big one go fast, and can gybe it well, the chances are you will be able to jump straight on the little one and do the same thing.

This even extends to things like the footstrap positions, the shape of the deck beneath your feet, and the type and placement of deck grip etc. If you like the big Gladiator, I reckon go for the little one too.
