Must be nice when you are sponsored and don't have to worry about trashing your gear:

The new Naish thrusters are a throwback to the 1988 Naish polyester board that I owned except for the mast track position. That pointy nose is just asking to be snapped off by a wayward mast.

In fact my 8 yr old Delta custom thruster was quite the talking point at Hookipa the last few weeks, even Keith took some measurements, ha ha!

some massive aerials on a heavy inside section. I wondered what 'trip' JP was talking about
then realised he lives in Maui. A flight to Oahu, what a hassle!

Interesting.
I found a 2007 magazine in a pile of crap the other day and in it was an article about multifins with the guy from Witchcraft boards explaining how they work. He said a thruster is the best configuration for a waveboard and that quads would never work.
Hmmmm - lol wonder if he regrets that one.
Then again maybe a thruster (set up well) is better, who knows.
So I am finally thinking about giving quads another try, so I bet they are juuussst about to can them

I know Swifty was on a thruster but a few times you can clearly see Polakow on a quad, even get to see him throwing the fins in it.

Great video, amazing level of sailing and a great story. I had forgotten how good JP is through the bottom turn (5.37),he is in a class by himself in those sorts of waves. I thought it was pretty funny that Swifts wife is telling him that he isnt sailing as well as JP and to go out there and smack the lip, she must be an Aussie bogan chick at heart. It says something about how high the standard is when such a great sailor could walk away from a day like that and feel that he came up second best.

I enjoyed the commentary as much as the action. There's a first for everything.
