You couldn't have explored all avenues if you had only one rig for one set of conditions. Sailing a freeride board is quite different from sailing a 90 litre - just a lot of different fun.

On the contrary, the range you're looking at is great for simple moves - front-to-back, trying different gybes, tacks, and so on. Ride a 120L towards shore, in shallow waters, and try things. Without great investment, added fun.
(I'm also an older guy, mileage-wise.)
