What answer are you looking for?
An answer from a beginner, intermediate or advanced windsurfer?

I personally think that by having the right speed and the right wave determines how much air you get.

yep kity surfin, getting air takes skill, practice, fitness and perseverence.

If you windsurf in outer space its hard to get air, because there isn't any up there. You'd need a space suit. But then your harness won't fit. Best to avoid it.

Compared to kiting, everything about windsurfing is hard:

Learning
Planing
Tricks
Airs

When does the penance stop? Specifically, looking like a total kook in front of about a hundred assembled surfers and the east coast's best wavesailors who were all out enjoying the wind and waves while I continue to get bashed around in the shorebreak, unable to get out the back voluntarily.
