I was just going through my GPS files and made an assumption that since replacing my Pro Edition 120 with a Full Wood 120 I've got slower. With the Pro Edition I was posting speed up 28+Knots now with the new board I seem to peak about around 24 Knots?

What do you guys think?

Stiffer board = better control?
Better fin = More speed?
FWS Slower = Just my Imagination?

Well if that's what thenumbers say that's what they say. Clearly the pro edition gives you an extra 4 knots, whether or not it is 'Worth' it is a different question all together.

You can't argue with the stats, in fact seems like you have very nicely proved a point of contention and unlike most folks around here actually have scientific and irrefutable evidence ( to a degree).

I look forward to reviewing the statistical analysis and reading you paper on the subject.

well its prtty hard to tell for sure unless you rode them using the same fin / sail in a consistant wind with the foot straps and mast track in identicle positions.

hell ive seen 3-4 knots diifference on the smae board just because the sail was set differntly on 2 different days . Ive also stopped and tuned a sail by adding just an extra cm of out haul and had a massive impact on performance.

then you have to start looking at how flat the water is that day

So many variables. :)
