Hi,

I have a GoPro HD and I want to install an FCS fin mount into the nose of my boards so that I can mount the camera on the front of the board. Just wondering whether anyone else has done this and if so is it something you can easily do yourself or is it quite a tricky procedure that is best done by a repair shop ?

Thanks

Justin

If you've done any fibreglassing before it should be easy enough. I would go with one of the fcs compatible plugs like this though: http://www.shapers.com.au/products/S%252dPlug-%252d-Single.html - which I think are easier to install than FCS. Just route out a hole to fit it, put in a layer of glass, pour a little resin in the hole, put the plug in and pour in the resin between it and the sides of the hole to fill the gaps. The plug will sit a little above the board, you just sand it down level and you're done really.

You probably don't need to do too good a job since the camera mount will have way less load than a fin.

Get your local repair man to do it, he will have all the gear and equipment and should end up looking ok.
