Your weight please...

Hi Mick your about the same weight as me. If you looking for a Slalom/Speed kit i would diffenately look at the IS86. Ive done over 39knots on mine at wello and it handles the chop very well.
for conditions 20+ it will be ideal with a 6.8 and then maybe around a 6m when it gets windier. With fins I would use a 34 C3 venom with the 6.8 and a 30 with 6m.

If your after any sails im selling my 2009 Loft Blades 6.8 & 5.6 in the next couple of weeks when the new models arrive.

Seems that The SB and CA boards are the go..Not sure the CA will be durabale enough for a cluts like me (bad memories of a high tech carbon slalom board in the 90's!..not sure I will get good/fast enough to appreciate the extra 5% performance?..could be wrong...if you thnk they are as strong as any mainstream production let me know (have read some commenst online that suggest not

Got too say the whole GPS thing seems exciting and funway to push yourself and not be too lazy!

Any thoughts on Exocet I think they also come out of Thailand (SB), have seen a few around the construction seems really high qaulity and durable.
Anders Bringle (mistral) new range also look spot on..but thats down the track , will be to exy for me for a while yet.

And yes I did some research on sails..KA and the LOFT sail also..really like what I found especially on the Loft,tuneability of them (currently sail some old Ezzy wave sails and I like the feel if them also, find that they have great wind range when you tune them accordingly, and durability and cross ply is a big plus. Both have a really strong race/speed design background with results thats speak for them selves...

I Am surprised at the sail size's mentined I guess with the new gear now the range and hold ability per sale is much wider...?

So ist a small-mid 6m and a small mid 5m? 2 fins, 1 boom and mast to suit both...Ideal!

I was thinking sub 85ltr in board (given that my wave board is 84ltr and I can get that goinging 12-15 knots on a large 5m)...but maybe I am wrong to think that and could end up to my guts in water looking for a gust!...its always gusty so perhaps er on the larger side?

The new volume v's width thing is a bit confusing also, eg can have way less volume when offset by more width...??

Looking at board design currently seems anything in the last couple of years is current...prior to that some designs get a bit off the track..note some JP slalom with weird ass's! SB fish etc....

+30knts ..very rare here...but we do get blows from now to May that will often be 25-28knts constant with 30 gusts...

Best thing that will come out of this I am sure is one board, 2 sails....nice simple and easy!

Vando, Kite sunshine coast..normally Coolum to Sunshine strectch or cotton tree, windsurf the same Coolum, Castaways....Sth at Mudjimba when super windy and blown out will have blast on the lakes or G/beach.... Elliot heads 2-3 times per year, yet to sail Burrum..and this month kited at Flat Rock for the first time...amazing place..dolphins..really nice waves..easy to sail or kite at...
Got to say thgough the windsurfing is not that often these days because it rarley is above 20kts and the kites are just too easy in 12-22knts..some would argue at above that also..but I have kids..so no kite above that!

What you need is a fanatic falcon 90 or 80 ( I have the 90) and a Tushingham x-15 7m and 40 kts will be within your reach
