NO: Better when it is wet, windy and stormy and you are really taking on the elements and every other p*ssy is indoors!

NO: There's less people out when it's pissin it down with rain. Storms (usually) seem to bring swell with them as well

No: I get sunburnt unless I put a lot of zinc cream and sunscreen on.

This forum could use a poll option.

On a weekend: NO! You wait 30 minutes to get a parking spot near the Bay.

On a weekday: YES!

I love both!

In the summer, we're all out in our boardshorts having a BBQ and enjoying happy rays.
In the winter we're all looking like goofy penguins, sharing hot drinks and getting a towel ready for the next lunatic who just nipped out for 2 runs in the ice rainy wind, and take follow!
Perfect.

if the sun went out we wouldn't have any light and heat.

without the light and heat the water would freeze and the wind would eventually stop blowing

Worst than that, we would be tripping over in the dark.

I suppose there is an argument for day light saving there

at least my curtains won't fade further

I know it is when you sail in the harbour off Balmoral.

I prefer to sail when it's overcast and stormy. No need for sunscreen, don't have to compete for parking on "nice beach days", bigger and nastier winds (just like last Saturday). Fewer people on the water to contend with.

But sailing late in the afternoon into the sun when the water turns to liquid silver is awesome. You can't see any colour, just bright and dark.

And sailing over crystal clear water on a hot sunny day in just boardies and a rashie, deliberately falling in from time to cool off is pretty sweet also.

So I'll have a bet each way thanks.

Both. I love cruising with a big sail on smooth water and the sun's shining bright but when the weather turns, it gives me a real buzz to go out in something you think you probably shouldn't and find out how much fun this sport can be when you push your limits.

Yes i like windsurfing in the sun. and it's so small in SA that the waters never crowded anyway!!! we always wish more people would be out lol... wind permitting of course!!! but windsurfing was a sport made for the summer months.

Cheers

Yeah love the sun while windsurfing. It's all about atmosphere. Birds diving schools of fish, dophins trying to keep up with you, local yacht fleet marking the horizon and fisherman lining the pier. Not to mention sunset sailing. A kodak moment for sure!

Only thing I don't like about the sun is sometimes the sun/water reflections look like wind and I get overly excited.
