Got out on Saturday to practice in the lighter winds off St Leonards.

On Sunday went down to Pt Henry and had a ball. Got into the footstraps for the first time. Was awesome

Sunday I had a great sail at Narrabeen Lake. The wind was a very consistent north easterly seabreeze. It was great for around three hours in the middle of afternoon then got a bit gusty, I was a bit tired by then so I wasn't phased.

Maxed out on a 6.7 racing sail. I would have been happier with a 6 meter sail. Had some reaching duels with another guy who was a bit faster than me but we were pretty even: it was a blast!

Nailed a fair few gybes on both tacks, able to plane out. I did my first waterstart for about 7 years as I couldn't be bothered uphauling. It was a bit tough with that big sail but I managed.

Now if I quit work and moved somewhere windy my skills and fitness would build up well.

Good winds on botany bay on Sunday and Monday. So sore today after two day's sailing in a row. Not used to that this summer.

Narrabeen was enjoyable on Monday as well SE blowing but quite a large wind hole in the middle, but I guess that is normal.

a very apt nickname for you itch considering where you sailed, as after sailing Narrabeen myself on Monday I had a bit of that going on cause of the damn Pelicans! Great day though down there doubling my kids and their friends on a big board interspersed with me being able to have the odd fang on my board when a gust came. Sunday at botany was great being out in the Nor easter. 2 days in a row in Sydney is a big bonus.

Forecast said nothing on Saturday but it got up to 20 knots so took the afternoon off work and went to the train. One of the best sails I've had, so much sweeter when you're supposed to be working isn't it? Reminds me of when I used to skip school to go surfing at Kirra. I remember those days fondly, I don't remember school much.

Took the KA 6.4 Kult out. Had it powered up nicely, even a little overpowered in the gusts. Man that sail is nice. It's so predictable I'm starting to forget it is even there, and when you rake it back, hang on! To be honest the speed still scares me a little on my goofy side.

hey panda.

i went out on the 08 6.4 kult. same thing, went to the beach expecting formula sailing but took the wave gear anyways.

couldn't believe my eyes. started at 12-15 knots. picked up to 15-20 knots.

planed on the 95lt fish from 12 knots and up. very tastey!

Well powered on 6m and 80l Acid at Avalon on Monday, was surprised to see so few people out when rigging up, but they came out of the woodwork as I worked upwind to the break...

Got a couple of chest to head high waverides, three top turns on each as well as numerous smaller waves, got about 70% of gybes which felt good. Things have improved from those first hesitant days out at Kirra where I'd cheer if I made more than one gybe!

Heading back out after a small wave I felt my harness go 'POP', initially I thought it was the harness line but it turned out to be the boom. Sailed deep trying to keep the force off the sail, but then the boom separated so I was left holding two unconnected bits of ally. I knew that I'd never get going on that side again so gybed when I was in line with the gap in the reef and planed back to the shore, watching the broken bits of boom rubbing on my sail Those Ezzys are built tough, not a scratch on it
