Hi everyone,

For some (unexplained) reason uni is giving me 16 days off from this Friday .

With all this lovely sunshine around lately I was thinking about heading north to Gnarloo, hopefully for some good sailing. If I dont go now I have to wait to till December after exams.

Does anybody know what its like up there this early. I have been watching the forcasts a little, and its not that inspiring yet; 13 - 18 kn seabreazes, maybs a bit stronger every now and then (occassional 20 kn forcast). Does the wind do what BOM says it does at tombstones???

There have also been some strong SE, as opposed to the usual SW. Can this be sailed?
Will there be any windsurfers there yet?

Cheers,

Simon.

Hi Simon,
Get your arse up there asap. This is an awesome time of year. Went up there this time two years ago and had 7 days sailing out of 9, on a 5.3m. On the two days we did not sail, the surf was awesome.

Going up a bit later this year, with Reg and co in October.

Cheers
Simon

This uni break is for you to study for your exams..
but hey no better way to get prepared than to get windsurfing out of your system/

It always happens that is always blows a gail during exams...
and you always get seated next to the window on windy days.

Hi leper111,
I would really like to go up there again, but I more or less come direcly from this long long trip (two weeks ago). We had some wind on that days, but the waves were soooo big, that nobody was out.

Anyway, I still have to recover from our last Dutchies session, maybe you have seen my wipe out while "crossing" a bigger wave. I landed in my sail on my neck and I really thought this is the end. However, I did a few fronties out of about 30 tries, but I was also impressed by your table tops (hope your are the one I have in mind), nice.
Have a nice time up there and beware of the KING WAVES, you know king waves kill.
