Hey,

Am making my maiden trip to Gerroa this weekend. Forecast is looking promising for wind. Am going down by myself in my van. Will any other windsurfers be about?

Cheers

Rest assured, there will be others.

I'll be doing my first 2008 weekend trip down there as well. Might not be much of a wave though but hopefully enough to make it worth it.

I was thinking Wanda would have a better wave this weekend... Gerroa could be damn windy though!!

Was down there today, by 3pm it was probably gusting to 30kts. By 5pm I was out of control on a 4.7 (lightweight though + arms rooted). Waves seemed to disappear a little when it hit low tide, the hour or so before low tide was pretty good (down the beach further - nothing up the top). I'd dare say tomorrow it will be deadset nuclear, bring small sails hahaha.

Just got back from Gerroa with a mate, first time sailed there for years. Had an absolute blast, waves were small but plenty of wind, bit gusty early but around three it really filled out.
Might be back tomorrow and the day after.

If it's flat just head a few k's down to the Berry turnoff, it's not as onshore as the heads and you can still ride down the line and it's generally great for jumping. Can be dodgy for car break ins but on the weekend not such a problem with plenty of people around.

Alternatively if the wind's ballistic then Werri is a great option too.

there will always be other people sailing there.
The Gong will be a better option for waves though. will be windy everywhere.

Hey Stehsegler. Leaving around same time, not much swell yesterday but plenty of wind, with a whole lot more forecast today. See you down there.
