After some advice on fins. Thinking of getting a 90 litre Naish Starship and wondering what would be the best fin for speed. Would be sailing mostly in choppy lake water using a 5.7 Hellcat. Was looking at MFC liquid pro in 32 or 30. TIA

I read somewhere that starship is more of a back foot pressure oriented board, olso read somewhere tribal powermax is a good speed freeride fin that takes a lot of back foot pressure in choppy conditions, it may suit the board well.

Try a slalom fin first. I use them in my all freeride and FSW boards with no issues.

^^ I was thinking the same. If you want speed - use a fast fin not a g-10 freeride.....

I'm a bit of a fan of the liquid pro. For the conditions you describe, a dedicated speed fin would have trouble maintaining grip.
A liquid pro 30 should work well with a 90 and 5.7m.

I sail in very rough open water. No problems with grip. Black project and Select slalom fins work well. Never want to use free ride fins again.

Had this in 100liters. Generally speaking you and others are treating this as a Freeride board. My size may have been different in character, it was a FSW, but friendly , very easy to sail, at the ice cream store it would be vanilla.
the Liquid Pro is a nice fin, Black Project Fins, Maui Ultra Fins all make G10 that are peachy.

I have had a 32cm liquid pro in my 102L freeride board and it was the biggest dog of a fin I have ever used, always spinning out at any speed, and yes I'm very back foot heavy in my stance.
I have a tribal powermax 32cm which works great in my 102L Patrik Fcross. You don't need carbon in small sizes like this especially on freeride.
+1 with Shifu, use slalom fins. I have found freeride fins to be pointless, the best way to get comfort through rough water is to use the lift of a good fin to fly above it!

Haven't tried the Phoenix but the Raptor is awesome on bigger boards and the Phoenix is it's little brother so should be great

Phoenix is slightly wider chord than Raps, about as fast, and much friendlier.
I have 2 Phoenix, 3 Raptors, and 3 Mirages.
