Just for your information - you may interested in participating or watching

The following is a post from another poledancing forum (hint hint)- two words, 1st word starting with A and 2nd word starting with H

The Tabou comp will take place on the Gold Coast in the last week of March. The job of organising these events will commence this week. So if you have any ideas you would like to see incorporated or have a lead for sponsorship opportunities please let me know. The more we can add to these events the better they become.
Also, if you have any inclination that you would like to assist, now is the time to put your hand up

The comp is generally held at Currumbin front beach (between the Alley rock and Elephant rock) though I'm not sure where it will be this year, but i would expect it would be the same spot. The last couple of events saw a good turn out (about 100 entrants over the two years combined) and last year had quite large waves along with several good sailors from NSW which made it fun to watch.

Cheers

H

Howdy Mike. I don't think windsurfing has been affected by the kiting restrictions, I don't even think kiting has been officially banned, but apparently some official organisation has classed kites as some kind of boating vessel and therefore not permitted within yada yada distance from the mouth, or from doing blah blah knots in the estuary. It's not surprising this happened because the kiters insisted on packing 20 of themselvs into the area the size of a footy oval, and swimmers / bathers couldn't feel safe using the area any more. I don't know the whole story, though I'm sure folk in the kiting forum will know. Anyway, as a result I haven't seen anyone kiting there for a long time, even at lacies.

Hi Kitingkook. I believe the comp is the last saturday and sunday of march. It usually runs over two days. I'd post the link to the official information but seabreeze removes the links.
